While the original Rung by Rung is no longer available, 10 Limited Edition Fine Art Prints are being made available for purchase. Each print will have an original signature and be numbered. Each 11" (w) x 14" (h) will be matted to 16" (w) x 20" (h). Here are my thoughts about Rung by Rung.

When I started to draw on a marked-up page in my sketchbook, it looked like rungs of a ladder to me & I began thinking about the process of climbing from the bottom/beginnings upward. I took note of how searching/learning/growing takes courage/persistence/time/patience. I believe that steps of faith require showing up and continual reflection/focus/action. Forward, upward, onward, sometimes lateral, and often inward movement. Climbing and reaching from one choice to the next. Daily, my only plan/objective was to build on my last additions to the composition. There were appearances of tiny birds and hearts and crosses and ellipses, perhaps because I sketched on the back porch. I am convinced that our surroundings influence our expressions. My only goal being to find joy and beauty and value in each phase/version of the creation. Letting it become something unplanned/ unexpected but trusting it would somehow duly develop and find its fruition. While I am pleased with the aesthetic of the finished image, I'm equally impacted by the creative process and internal processing of its personal message to me. I hope you find it impactful as well, rung by rung.
