Love God Love People, 2022

Size: 6" x 18" framed

Mixed Media on Masonite: 3.25" x 16"

Frame is painted poplar wood: 6" x18"

💞  Love God Love People, 2022

It really is so simple. But it is certainly never dull, never easy, and never boring. This painting only took a few days, as the board and frame were already prepped and waiting for me to show up. Everything was ready to go, so I just began.

Layer upon layer, it quickly revealed itself to be an expression of giving love. The song Love God Love People replayed in my mind/car/studio. Check my last few posts to hear it.

The lyrics displayed themselves as I worked. In the center there is "ground zero" expressed both vertically and horizontally. No matter how you "spin it", that "ground zero" is the center knot of a "bow" symbolizing giving. In the very center is a "cross" --the ultimate gift. On each end (up and down or side to side) there are many mingling "hearts" symbolizing love extending outward from the center/origin.

So much to say, see, and ponder in a "simple" painting.
